Telecom Sector Skill Council

  • TSSC is administered by a Governing body comprised of 14 members,3 members from leading Telecom Service Providers,2 members from leading players in Handset Segment and one member each from the Telecom Passive Infra Segment, Network & Managed Services Segment,COAI,ICA,TCOE,NSDC,TAIPA,Government,Academia,and TSSC(CEO).
  • It is a dynamic sector employs around 9.8 million people, making it a largest employment generating sectors in the country.
  • Reduces the existing gap between demand and supply of skills through collaboration of the three primary stakeholders i.e. HR, industry and academia.
  • To meet the needs of the industry it develops necessary frameworks for standards and curriculum at all levels in vocational/technical programs.
  • The Telecom Sector Skill Council is dedicated to develop world class skilled manpower for the Telecom industry.
  • Being a non-profit industry, it is under the supervision of the NSDC.
  • Manage resources diligently to get desired results and value for money.
  • Develop National Occupational Standards (NOS) that results skill competency standards and qualifications.
  • Set up a pan-India Labor Market Information System (LMIS) i.e. preparing a web based compendium of job roles and skill types to help in planning for re-skilling, delivery of training and employability.
  • Review and identifying the existing and emerging skill gaps by trend analysis.
